Leasing Manager 936 N Fairview Ave, Lansing, MI 48912 $15.00 - $30.14 an hour - Full-time $15.00 - $30.14 an hour - Full-time Job Summary We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Leasing Manager to lead our property leasing operations. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the leasing process from initial inquiry through lease signing, ensuring a seamless experience for prospective tenants. Your expertise in property management, legal regulations, and customer service will drive occupancy rates and foster positive relationships with residents. The ideal candidate will possess strong negotiation skills, a comprehensive understanding of fair housing laws, and experience with property management software to optimize leasing activities. Responsibilities Manage the entire leasing cycle, including marketing available units, conducting property tours, and processing applications efficiently. Ensure compliance with Fair Housing regulations, Section 8 guidelines, LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit) requirements, and other legal standards. Utilize Yardi, OneSite, and other property management systems for data entry, lease administration, and reporting. Negotiate lease terms and contracts with prospective tenants while upselling additional services or amenities to enhance occupancy and revenue. Coordinate with legal administrative teams to prepare and review leasing agreements, amendments, and related documentation. Maintain excellent customer relationships through professional phone etiquette, conflict management, and personalized service. Oversee property maintenance coordination to ensure units are move-in ready and meet quality standards. Conduct regular market research to stay competitive in property leasing strategies and rental pricing. Requirements Some experience in property management or real estate administrative roles with a focus on leasing or tenant relations. Strong knowledge of landlord-tenant law, Fair Housing regulations. Excellent negotiation skills coupled with conflict management abilities to resolve tenant concerns effectively. Demonstrated customer service excellence with professional phone etiquette and relationship-building skills. Experience handling contracts, legal documentation, data entry, filing systems, and facilities management tasks. Office experience supporting property operations including filing, data management, and administrative support functions.
