Full-time Position Summary:
At Yellowstone Boys and Girls Ranch (YBGR), the Program Supervisor for the Therapeutic Group Home (TGH) program is a leader, mentor, and advocate—guiding teams that create stability, healing, and growth for youth with complex needs. This role blends strategic leadership with hands-on collaboration, ensuring therapeutic services are delivered with consistency, compassion, and excellence. As the Program Supervisor, you'll lead and support TGH Managers and their teams in building safe, structured, and nurturing environments where youth can develop resilience, strengthen relationships, and reach meaningful treatment goals. Working closely with multidisciplinary partners, you will drive program quality, staff development, and operational success while advancing YBGR's mission of empowering youth and families to thrive.Starting Salary Range:
$1,960.02- $2,206.
Daily and Monthly Responsibilities:
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Plans and directs work, ensuring that work schedules are adhered to and assigning specific duties to subordinate staff. Responsible for interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and training employees. Conducts staff evaluations, job performance management (including coaching/counseling), and corrective action. Responsible for ensuring appropriate staff training and education programs are provided. Schedule and conduct regular staff meetings. Demonstrates effective management of a team toward achievement of goals, including appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Monitor staff performance, provide feedback and guidance to Therapeutic Group Home Managers, ensuring that all staff members are professionally trained and certified and that the milieu program follows YBGR policies and is consistent with YBGR treatment philosophy. Ensure youth in assigned group homes are properly funded by monitoring funding sources and eligibility, and by ensuring all required documentation is submitted to obtain and maintain funding Provide leadership for assigned group homes to include programming needs, quality treatment, and budget compliance Ensure a safe environment for youth that allows for quality care to achieve their treatment goals. Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation, when necessary, as part of the regular delivery of services or through an as needed or on-call basis. Responsible for various administrative areas involving but not limited to scheduling, supervision, budgetary and fiscal matters, and other areas assigned. Develop and maintain effective communication and working relationships with the families and collaterals of the residents.Required Qualifications:
21 years old or older Criminal /Child Abuse Clearance:
Must pass criminal record and child abuse registry background check as required by the State of Montana. License to operate a passenger vehicleEducation and Experience:
an advanced degree in social work or a comparable human service field and two years of relevant experience; or bachelor's degree in social work or a comparable human service field and four or more years of relevant experience. If an internal candidate does not meet the above requirements but has demonstrated competency and potential ability to complete the duties of the position through their work experience with YBGR, they may be considered for the position based on staffing needs. This consideration would come with a personalized career development plan, requiring enhanced supervision and development, along with actively pursuing and completing any unmet educational requirements. Required Abilities/Skills Demonstrated professional skills in crisis intervention and de-escalation. Demonstrated professional skills in leadership and staff development. Demonstrated ability to work with youth with emotional and psychiatric issues. Demonstrated ability to work with culturally diverse individuals and build rapport with those individuals. Use of computer and able to quickly learn and use YBGR selected software solutions. Demonstrate being self-motivated, self-disciplined, and diligent with forward thinking. Demonstrate the ability to think of their team over self and define success collectively rather than individually. The ability to effectively interact and communicate with others. These skills are essential for building and maintaining relationships, collaborating with colleagues, resolving conflicts, and navigating various social situations. Willingness and ability to obtain certification in First Aid/CPR and Violence Intervention Prevention. Demonstrate the following values. Physical/Environmental Demands & Requirements:
Work environment: This position will generally work indoors in a climate-controlled environment but occasionally will work in an outdoor environment where they may not be protected from weather conditions. Will occasionally be required to remain in a stationary position for an extended period of time while performing administrative duties. Will frequently operate computer, keyboard, and other office equipment. Consistently needs to move about inside building, outside to include uneven terrain, changes in elevation, and frequently change body position from and to standing, kneeling, sitting, and prone. Occasionally will be required to assist in the physical restraint of a youth (50-300lbs) who is a safety risk to themselves or others. The person in this position will constantly communicate with clients, their treatment team, and others. Must be able to communicate accurate information and accurately understand information communicated by those individuals. Must be able to perceive, recognize, and observe client's behavior to include non-verbal cues expressed by the client.
