Job Description
Make a Difference in the Lives of Youth and Families We are seeking a compassionate, organized, and experienced Program Manager to lead our Residential Treatment Program serving children and adolescents ages 7-17 who require out-of-home placement due to serious emotional, behavioral, substance use, and co-occurring disorders. This leadership role is ideal for someone passionate about youth mental health, trauma-informed care, and helping children develop the skills needed to transition successfully to less intensive levels of care. Position Summary The Residential Treatment Program Manager oversees the daily operations of a community-based residential treatment facility providing intensive therapeutic services to children and adolescents ages 7-17. The program operates within a collaborative, team-based system of care designed to support youth experiencing chronic emotional, behavioral, developmental, and/or substance use challenges. Residential Treatment services are delivered in a staff-secure environment operating 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, 365 days per year, with awake overnight staff and continuous supervision. The Program Manager works closely with youth, families, caregivers, schools, and multidisciplinary treatment teams to ensure quality care, safety, therapeutic progress, and regulatory compliance. Approximately 80% of the Manager's time will occur while youth are awake and present in the facility. Program Goals Residential Treatment services are designed to:
- Minimize behaviors related to functional deficits
- Ensure safety and provide crisis intervention/de-escalation support
- Support development of self-control, communication, social, and recreational skills
- Assist youth in building adaptive functioning and independence
- Prepare individuals to successfully transition to less intensive treatment settings Key Responsibilities
- Provide oversight of day-to-day residential treatment operations
- Supervise and support residential program staff
- Respond to and oversee crisis situations and emergencies
- Provide direct psychoeducational services to youth
- Participate in treatment planning and Child & Family Team meetings
- Develop and implement Person-Centered Plans (PCPs)
- Coordinate and submit prior authorizations for services
- Provide basic case management functions
- Recruit, screen, and coordinate admissions for residents
- Maintain staffing ratios in compliance with licensure standards
- Ensure documentation complies with agency and governing body policies and Clinical Coverage Policy requirements
- Participate in ongoing supervision, training, and professional development activities
- Maintain current competency in therapeutic interventions and treatment modalities
Qualifications:
Candidates must meet one of the following qualification pathways:- Bachelor's degree in a human services field and a minimum of 2 years full-time post-bachelor's
MH/DD/SU
experience , OR- Master's degree in a human services field and 1 year post-graduate experience , OR
- Bachelor's degree in a human services or non-human services field with accumulated
MH/DD/SU
experience serving the population supported by the program Must have a minimum of 1 year experience working with children/adolescents with serious and chronic emotional, behavioral, substance use disorders or co-occurring disorders including intellectual/developmental disabilities.Benefits:
