Job Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate, dedicated Program Manager to lead one of our residential programs serving adults with developmental disabilities. This position plays a key role in promoting independence, inclusion, and personal growth while ensuring high‑quality service delivery. The Program Manager oversees day‑to‑day operations, supervises staff, and ensures compliance with all regulatory standards, Individualized Service Plans (ISPs), and agency expectations. $54K - $60K annually
Location :
Nutley, NJ Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
Ensure program environment is well maintained, organized, safe, welcoming and meets/exceeds agency expectations and standards. Oversee daily program operations and maintain a safe, welcoming residence. Support resident choice, community participation, and ISP goal achievement. Coordinate health, medication, and behavioral supports with care teams. Manage program funds, documentation, and regulatory compliance. Supervise, train, and schedule staff; conduct evaluations and address performance issues. Maintain the home and vehicles to agency safety and quality standards. Ensure all staff time/attendance reporting is accurate and submitted timely. Ensure ongoing communication with the Assistant Director to provide information regarding staff and residents. Participate in team meetings, ISP reviews, and communication with families and providers. Complete required documentation, incident reports, and audit preparation. Provide on‑call support and direct care coverage when needed. Perform any other duties as needed.
Education & Work Experience:
BA/BS in Special Education, Psychology, or Human Services preferred At least one year of management or leadership experience preferred Minimum one year of experience working with developmentally disabled individuals required Five years of supervisory experience with developmentally disabled individuals may substitute for the education requirement
Skills & Requirements:
Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Excellent organizational and time‑management abilities. Effective problem‑solving and analytical skills. High attention to detail with consistent follow‑through. Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and general computer literacy.
