Summer Intern - Property Management & Affordable HousingPosition Title Summer Intern - Property Management & Affordable Housing Company Georgica Property Management Department Property Management / Affordable Housing Operations Reports To Vice President Position Type Seasonal Internship (10-12 Weeks) Position Summary Georgica Property Management is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Summer Intern to support our property management and affordable housing operations team. This internship provides students and recent graduates with hands-on experience in residential property management, customer service, affordable housing programs, leasing operations, and compliance administration. The Summer Intern will gain exposure to day-to-day property operations while developing professional skills and industry knowledge in a fast-paced real estate environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Assist property management staff with daily administrative tasks and resident services. Support leasing activities, including preparing application packets and organizing resident files. Assist with resident communication, outreach programs, and community events. Help maintain accurate records and documentation in property management systems. Support affordable housing compliance staff with file organization and document tracking. Conduct data entry and assist with report preparation. Participate in property inspections and site visits as assigned. Observe and learn about leasing, maintenance coordination, rent collection, and resident relations. Assist with special projects related to operations, compliance, and resident engagement. Attend training sessions and professional development opportunities. Perform other duties as assigned. QualificationsEducation Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a college, university, or vocational program.
Preferred majors include:
Business Administration Real Estate Public Administration Finance Accounting Urban Planning Communications Related fields Skills and Competencies Strong interest in real estate, property management, or affordable housing. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong organizational and time-management abilities. Attention to detail and willingness to learn. Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook). Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment. Professional attitude and customer-service orientation. Learning Opportunities Interns will gain exposure to: Property Management Operations Affordable Housing Programs (LIHTC, HUD, and related programs) Leasing and Resident Relations Compliance Administration Asset and Portfolio Management Financial Reporting Basics Real Estate Industry Best Practices Physical Requirements Ability to work in an office environment and at property sites. Ability to sit, stand, walk, and use standard office equipment. Ability to occasionally lift up to 20 pounds. Compensation Paid internship (hourly rate based on qualifications and experience).
