Roles & Responsibilities Our client is a reputable building and construction company seeking an Assistant Contract Manager / Contract Manager to oversee contract administration, cost management, and commercial aspects of construction projects from pre-award through project completion. Responsibilities
Administer construction contracts and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
Prepare, review, and evaluate tenders, quotations, and subcontract agreements.
Manage project costs, budgets, valuations, variations, and final accounts.
Review and negotiate contractual terms with clients, consultants, suppliers, and subcontractors.
Prepare and assess progress claims, payment certifications, and cost reports.
Manage variation orders, extension of time (EOT) submissions, contractual claims, and dispute matters.
Monitor project cash flow, cost forecasting, and commercial performance.
Provide contractual advice and support to project teams throughout the project lifecycle.
Liaise with clients, consultants, and subcontractors to resolve commercial and contractual issues.
Ensure compliance with company policies and relevant contractual and statutory requirements.
Requirements
Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying, Building, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
Experience in contract administration, quantity surveying, or commercial management within the building construction, civil engineering, or infrastructure industry.
Strong knowledge of construction contracts, including PSSCOC, SIA, FIDIC, NEC, JCT, or similar standard forms.
Experience in tendering, cost planning, subcontract management, variations, claims, and final accounts.
Good understanding of construction cost control and commercial risk management.
Strong negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and quantity surveying/commercial management software.
Preferred Experience
Experience with large-scale residential, commercial, industrial, or infrastructure projects.
Familiarity with government and public sector construction projects is an advantage.
Ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
