Job Description
The Knox School is seeking an enthusiastic, organized, and student-centered Residential Life Director to lead and elevate our Residential Life Program. This individual will live on campus and play a key leadership role in cultivating a vibrant, fun, safe, and inclusive residential experience for our boarding students.
Key Responsibilities:
Residential Program Leadership:
Design and implement a dynamic and inclusive Residential Life curriculum that promotes community, leadership, and student well-being. Foster a positive and respectful dorm culture in alignment with The Knox School's mission and values.Student Engagement & Activities:
Plan and supervise engaging weekend trips, cultural outings, and on-campus activities. Work closely with students to ensure activities reflect their interests and diverse backgrounds.Dormitory Management:
Oversee the daily operations of dorm life, ensuring a safe and structured environment. Create and maintain systems for check-in/out, lights out, supervision schedules, and student accountability. Train, mentor, and coordinate dorm staff, including proctors and residential faculty.Student Leave & Communication:
Coordinate and track weekend and holiday student leaves. Maintain accurate records and clear communication with families and guardians regarding student travel and permissions.Community Building:
Be a visible, approachable, and caring presence in student life. Serve as a role model and trusted adult for students of all backgrounds and cultures.Compensation & Benefits:

Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred. Experience in residential life or youth leadership (boarding school or camp experience is a plus). Strong organizational and communication skills. High energy, positivity, and passion for working with teenagers. Ability to work evenings and weekends as required. Comfortable living in a residential setting and participating in the life of a boarding school community.
