Job Description

SPAC is seeking a dynamic Manager of Community Programs to lead inclusive educational and community engagement initiatives that connect our organization with students, families, and local partners. In this role, you will oversee a vibrant portfolio of outreach programs, ensuring they run smoothly while creating meaningful, welcoming experiences for participants of all backgrounds. You will play a key role in building strong community connections through the arts.
Key Responsibilities:
Program Oversight Lead and manage multiple community-based education programs, overseeing planning, delivery, and outcomes for each program Serve as the active on-site leader and direct contact for assigned programs, ensuring smooth operations, high-quality program delivery, and exceptional participant experiences Schedule and coordinate teaching artists, including rescheduling classes or events as needed Manage all program logistics, including participant registration, enrollment documentation, transportation, materials, meals, and complementary tickets Promote programs and support participant recruitment efforts Support efforts to broaden participation across community programs by strengthening outreach, building and maintaining strong relationships, and reducing barriers for students, parents, and community partners Draft and manage program communications, including logistics emails, flyers, and internal documentation Develop and adhere to timelines and project management tools for assigned programs Manage program budgets and provide regular reporting on outcomes Team Supervision Serve as direct superviser to Education interns (5-7 per year) Support the supervision of part-time teaching artists engaged in community programming Ensure schedules, tasks, and workloads are aligned with programmatic priorities and goals Foster a positive, professional, and collaborative team environment focused on growth and excellence
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in education, arts administration, human services, or a related field 3-5 years of experience in educational or community outreach programming Proven ability to manage multiple projects and competing deadlines Strong interpersonal and communication skills with diverse populations Experience supervising staff and working with artists and educators Genuine passion for arts education and creating inclusive community experiences Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with project management tools (Asana, monday.com) is a plus Why SPAC?
