Erie 1 BOCES is seeking a collaborative, equity-centered leader to serve as Manager, Community Schools Supports and Partnerships. This position plays a critical role in expanding and strengthening the Community Schools CoSer by supporting participating school districts through integrated academic, health, mental health, and family engagement services aligned to local community needs. The Manager leads the planning, coordination, and delivery of community schools supports across districts, including supervising staff, overseeing partnerships with community-based organizations and service providers, and managing grants, budgets, and program operations. Working closely with school and district leaders, nonprofit agencies, higher education partners, and internal Erie 1 BOCES teams, the Manager builds responsive systems of support, provides technical assistance and professional learning, and ensures fiscal accountability, compliance, and data-informed decision-making. Aligned to the Erie 1 BOCES Profile of a Leader, the Manager is an effective communicator who listens for understanding, communicates with clarity, and brings together multiple perspectives to inspire shared action. This role requires a collaborative and supportive leader who cultivates trusting relationships, fosters inclusive environments, and supports the growth and development of staff, districts, and community partners. The ideal candidate demonstrates a growth mindset and innovative, forward-thinking approach—using data, reflection, and continuous learning to anticipate needs, remove systemic barriers, and continuously improve services that enhance student success and family well-being. Civil Service Title Manager Community Schools Supports and Partnership Job QualificationsMinimum Civil Service Qualifications:
Must meet minimum civil service qualifications for a provisional appointment as follows: A) Possession of a Master's degree- in Social Work and three (3) years' experience
- providing Community Schools Support
- for K-12 districts, one (1) year of which included grant development and/or grant management.
SPECIAL CIVIL SERVICE REQUIREMENTS
Possession of a license to practice as a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in New York State at time of appointment and maintenance throughout duration of appointment; and Possession of a New York State Driver's license and reliable transportation to travel to various school districts within the state as needed at time of appointment and maintenance throughout duration of appointment.NOTE:
- Possession of a LCSW may substitute for one year of the required general experience but not for the specialized grant development/grant management experience. NOTE 2:
- For qualifying purposes, Community Schools Support is defined as strengthening student success by integrating academic supports with wraparound services such as after-school tutoring, attendance interventions, and family engagement aligned to local community needs.
Examples include:
Integrated Student Support (health services, nutritional support, social services), expanded and enriched learning time (after-school and summer programming and mentoring), family and community engagement (adult education and family support), school as community hub (temporary shelter and events). NOTE 3:- Your degree must have been awarded by a college or university accredited by a regional, national, or specialized agency recognized as an accrediting agency by the U.
Additional Qualifications:
Demonstrated experience supporting K-12 districts through a community schools or integrated student support framework. Expertise in grant development and management, cross-sector partnership building, and program oversight, with a strong ability to use data and research to assess needs, guide service expansion, and communicate impact to diverse stakeholders.
