Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Assistant Property Manager to support the daily operations of a multifamily community. The ideal candidate will have strong leasing, customer service, and organizational skills, along with experience working with Section 8 Choice Voucher programs. This position works closely with the Property Manager to assist with leasing, resident relations, rent collections, compliance, and overall property performance. The ideal candidate is dependable, professional, and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining excellent customer service. The purpose of this job description is to communicate the responsibilities and duties associated with the posted position. Responsibilities Conduct all business in accordance with company policies and procedures, Fair Housing, and state and federal laws. Assist with leasing apartments, processing applications, and preparing lease agreements. Manage Section 8 Choice Voucher paperwork and communicate with housing authorities as needed. Maintain resident files and ensure all required documentation is completed accurately and timely. Assist with rent collections, delinquency follow-up, notices, and resident payment arrangements. Coordinate move-ins and move-outs and ensure units are ready for occupancy. Respond to resident concerns and assist with resolving issues professionally and efficiently. Monitor occupancy and assist with marketing and resident retention efforts. Work closely with maintenance staff to ensure work orders and make-readies are completed promptly. Answer phones, respond to emails, and provide excellent customer service to current and prospective residents. Assist the Property Manager with reports, audits, inspections, and daily office operations. Job Requirements High School Diploma or equivalent. Previous apartment management or leasing experience preferred. Section 8 Choice Voucher experience required. Experience with property management software preferred. Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills. Professional attitude with strong attention to detail. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
