Job Description
OVERVIEW
The Artist & Community Partnerships Manager is directly responsible for implementing and managing ArtsFairfax's learning and partnership opportunities services for all constituencies including but not limited to: Fairfax County Poet Laureate programming, professional development workshops for artists and arts administrators, public art placemaking initiatives, the Capital One Hall Community Arts Partnership application, and partnerships with individual artists alongside community and civic organizations.RESPONSIBILITIES
Plan, design, and implement gatherings for artists, arts administrators, and other arts professionals to build meaningful connections and network Provide communications and logistics support for ArtsFairfax programming/partnerships and events, including on-site support. Manage resource services for local artists and arts organizations through ArtsFairfax programming and through the NVLAA (Northern Virginia Local Arts Agencies) partnership. Manage the complete Poet Laureate cycle and programming, including application, selection, partnerships, events, and community engagement Facilitate ArtsFairfax responsibilities within the Capital One Hall Community Arts Partnership Develop and maintain partnerships with new and established artists and arts organizations. Develop and maintain partnerships with community organizations and county entities engaged in arts and artist programming Plan, coordinate, and execute community engagement initiatives to close the need gap in designated communities and deepen relationships. Provide administrative support for the Fairfax County Public Art Locator. Provide administrative support as needed, for a growing program of public art and creative placemaking opportunities, including onsite support. General Management Coordinate correspondence, communications, agreements, and payments to partner organizations, speakers, facilitators, advisory group members, and scholarship recipients. Work with Communications staff to update website and promote all programming responsibilities Work with Development staff to provide content in areas of responsibility for grant applications and final reports as needed by. Maintain accurate records for retrieval of information by staff including signed agreements and payments. Assist with development of program budgets for assigned programs.EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS REQUIRED
Background and experience working in arts education, community engagement, and program creation and management. Ability to plan, develop, and administer arts related programming events, such as Workshops, Networking Events, other public facing opportunities. Ability to manage, develop and administer arts related funding opportunities including scholarships, grants, and long-term public art projects. Strong organizational skills to manage multiple complex programs simultaneously. Ability to plan, initiate and complete tasks and projects independently and work well in a team environment. Highly effective written and verbal communications skills. Attention to detail. Ability to work diplomatically with staff, board members, and arts community. Minimum Bachelor's degree in relevant field. Proficiency with Word, Microsoft Excel, and Outlook. Position requires ability to lift a minimum of 25 lbs. and can climb a ladder if needed.PREFERRED EXPERIENCE & SKILLS
Knowledge of the Fairfax and regional arts community. Experience with research, evaluation, and reporting. CRM and Project Management software. Experience facilitating and moderating online and in-person meetings and events. Experience developing and executing new programs and strategies, including building program budgets and managing program evaluations.POSITION REPORTS TO
