Job Description

Monmouth County Habitat for Humanity is excited to open a new full-time role. Reporting to the Executive Director, the Manager of Homeowner Services leads all aspects Homeowner Services. The responsibilities of the role are to oversee the homeowner selection process, family education programs, and post-construction support for families who participate in Habitat's homeownership and repair programs.

Hybrid•Office with one remote day, including some weekend and evening hours.
Responsibilities:
Homeowner Selection:
Oversee the outreach/affirmative marketing, application and selection processes to select qualified families for homeownership and repair opportunities including for programs such as LIFT, Handy Andy and Home Safe Seniors in adherence with grant requirements.
Homeownership Process Management:
Conduct applicant orientations in accordance with policy for new homeowner. Guide partnership objectives with community organizations, homeownership counseling agencies, financial literacy groups, local employers, and other relevant entities.
Lending and Real Estate Settlements:
Evaluate lending applications and match homeowners to suitable lending products. Support financial aspects of settlement, including documentation and appointments with partner families and bank personnel. Confirm understanding of taxes, escrow payments, legal responsibilities, and lender obligations with family partners. Complete annual loan origination training and serve as the Qualified Loan Originator. Regularly review and update homeownership forms with legal counsel support. Manage settlement details with the settlement attorney. Complete contracts and pricing sheets for house purchases. Coordinate with the Finance Department on grant compliance concerning settlements. Ensure adequate affiliate attendance at settlements. Follow and remain current on all regulatory practices associated with homebuying through state laws, federal laws and Habitat for Humanity International policies.
Post-Closing Support:
Acting as a liaison to homeowner families to address the ongoing maintenance of their homes and any issues that may arise. Manage mortgage issues and liabilities. Support and refer resources to delinquent homeowners to prevent foreclosure.
Qualifications:
Good interpersonal and customer service skills. Excellent communication skills•oral and written/Bi-lingual Spanish a plus. Effective planning and organization skills. Proven ability to maintain good working relationships with a variety of people and groups. Contract/Closing procedure knowledge including Loan Estimates & Closing Disclosures Working knowledge of MS Windows/MS Word/MS Excel. A commitment to the mission of the affiliate in accordance with the HFHI Affiliate Covenants. Developed organizational skills. The ability to work independently, prioritizing and managing work time accordingly. Knowledge of cultural difference and ability to respond appropriately. Attain and maintain annual certification (state and federal) as a Qualified Loan Originator (QLO).
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
Mortgage Processing or Banking experience. Mortgage Lending or Financial Counseling experience. Working knowledge of database.
