  • Full-time Overview The Residential Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily operations within assigned homes, ensuring high-quality care, staff accountability, and compliance with all applicable regulations.
This role includes direct support coverage when needed, transporting individuals to medical appointments, and maintaining accurate and timely documentation. The Supervisor plays a key role in preparing for audits and ensuring the agency remains in full compliance with Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities (DODD) standards. Key ResponsibilitiesStaff Supervision & Coverage Supervise Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) and ensure staff follow all care plans and agency policies Provide shift coverage as needed, including evenings, overnights, and weekends Conduct random home visits and staff check-ins to ensure quality care Address call-offs and ensure proper staffing coverage at all times Train, mentor, and coach staff on best practices and expectations Client Care & Support Ensure individuals receive proper support with ADLs, medication reminders/administration (if certified), and community integration Maintain a safe, structured, and respectful environment for all individuals served Respond to incidents and ensure proper follow-up and reporting Medical Appointments & Transportation Transport individuals to and from doctor's appointments and other necessary services Communicate effectively with medical providers, guardians, and team members Ensure all medical documentation and summaries are obtained and shared appropriately Documentation & Compliance Ensure all documentation is completed accurately, professionally, and on time (daily notes, incident reports, logs, etc.) Review documentation regularly for accuracy and completeness Prepare homes and records for audits, including compliance with DODD and waiver requirements Ensure proper handling of MARs, medication logs, and individual records Maintain organized files and ensure all required documentation is readily available Compliance & Quality Assurance Ensure all services are delivered in accordance with Individual Service Plans (ISPs) Monitor staff performance to ensure adherence to agency and state guidelines Assist in audit preparation and participate during compliance reviews Ensure staff trainings, certifications (including medication administration), and background checks are current Qualifications (Bachelor's degree preferred in Human Services or related field) Minimum of 1-2 years experience in home healthcare or developmental disabilities field Previous supervisory experience preferred Valid driver's license with clean driving record Ability to transport individuals in agency or personal vehicle Medication Administration Certification (or willingness to obtain) Strong knowledge of documentation and compliance standards Excellent communication and organizational skills Skills & Competencies Leadership and team management Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy Crisis management and problem-solving Time management and ability to multitask Professional communication with staff, guardians, and external providers Knowledge of DODD rules, UIR/MUI reporting, and ISP implementation Work Environment Work is performed in residential homes and in the community Requires flexibility in scheduling, including on-call responsibilities May involve lifting, assisting individuals with mobility, and responding to behavioral needs Additional Expectations Maintain confidentiality and follow HIPAA guidelines Represent Welcome Residential in a professional and respectful manner Be available for emergencies and provide leadership support when needed
