Operations Manager Iron Range Golf Performance Sioux Falls, SD Job Details Part-time | Full-time $35,000 - $45,000 a year 11 hours ago Benefits Paid time off Parental leave Employee discount Qualifications Computer operation Fitness sales Attention to detail Organizational skills Marketing operations Full Job Description General Manager — Iron Range Golf Performance CenterPosition Summary We are seeking a hands-on, motivated, and organized General Manager to oversee the daily operations, customer experience, programming, marketing, and growth of our Golf Performance Center. This role requires someone who is willing to do whatever it takes to keep the facility running smoothly, from vacuuming and maintaining the space to scheduling, collecting payments, promoting leagues and tournaments, growing academies, finding sponsorships, managing social media, creating marketing campaigns, and helping keep our website updated and promoted. The ideal candidate is dependable, personable, detail-oriented, and excited about golf, customer service, sales, marketing, and building a successful performance center. Key ResponsibilitiesFacility Operations The General Manager will be responsible for the overall cleanliness, presentation, and day-to-day function of the facility. Duties may include opening and closing the center, vacuuming, cleaning hitting bays, organizing equipment, restocking supplies, monitoring simulators or technology, and ensuring the facility is always professional, welcoming, and ready for customers. Customer Service & Scheduling This person will serve as a primary point of contact for customers, members, instructors, students, parents, and guests. Responsibilities include answering phone calls, emails, and messages; scheduling lessons, simulator time, leagues, events, academy sessions, and private rentals; and making sure customers receive a high-quality experience from the moment they contact us through the time they leave the facility. Payments & Administration The role includes collecting payments, processing memberships, tracking league and tournament fees, managing bookings, helping with invoices, maintaining customer records, and supporting basic reporting for ownership or management. Attention to detail, accuracy, and reliability are important. Leagues, Tournaments & Events The General Manager will help organize, promote, and run leagues, tournaments, outings, challenges, and other special events. This includes creating schedules, communicating with players, managing sign-ups, collecting entry fees, posting results, coordinating prizes, and creating an enjoyable competitive environment. Sales, Marketing & Promotion This role will help promote the Golf Performance Center, including leagues, academies, lessons, memberships, simulator rentals, tournaments, junior programs, clinics, camps, and special events. Responsibilities may include email communication, flyers, local outreach, community partnerships, and helping generate new business opportunities. Social Media & Digital Marketing The General Manager will be responsible for helping promote and grow our social media presence. This includes posting updates, promoting leagues and tournaments, highlighting academy programs, sharing photos and videos, creating engaging content, and helping build awareness of the Golf Performance Center online. This person will also help create and execute social media campaigns to promote memberships, events, academies, tournaments, junior programs, sponsorships, and seasonal offerings. The goal is to keep customers engaged, attract new participants, and consistently communicate what is happening at the facility. Website Updates & Online Promotion The General Manager will assist with updating and promoting the Golf Performance Center website. This may include keeping program information current, promoting upcoming leagues and tournaments, updating schedules, adding event details, highlighting academy offerings, promoting memberships, and helping ensure the website is accurate, professional, and useful for customers. Sponsorships & Partnerships The General Manager will be expected to help identify and pursue sponsorships, partnerships, and local business relationships. This may include league sponsors, tournament sponsors, academy sponsors, signage opportunities, corporate event partnerships, and promotional collaborations. Academy & Program Growth The General Manager will assist in promoting and supporting golf academies, junior programs, clinics, camps, private lessons, group instruction, and performance-based training programs. This includes helping fill programs, communicating with participants, coordinating with instructors, and creating a professional experience for students and families. Qualifications The ideal candidate should have strong communication and organizational skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to manage many different responsibilities throughout the day. Experience in golf, sports facilities, hospitality, fitness, recreation, customer service, sales, marketing, social media, or event management is preferred. A strong candidate will be comfortable working independently, solving problems, interacting with customers, promoting programs, handling payments, maintaining a clean and professional facility, and taking ownership of both daily operations and business growth. Desired Skills Strong customer service and people skills Interest in golf and player development Ability to multitask and stay organized Comfortable with scheduling, payments, email, and basic computer systems Reliable, self-motivated, and willing to take initiative Sales, marketing, or social media experience preferred Ability to create and promote social media campaigns Comfortable updating and promoting website content Event, league, or tournament management experience helpful Comfortable handling payments and basic administrative tasks Willingness to help with all aspects of the business, big or small Hours & Work Environment This position is expected to average approximately 35 hours per week , including about 30 hours per week on-site at the Golf Performance Center and approximately 5 hours per week off-site . Off-site responsibilities may include answering after-hours emails, responding to customer inquiries, helping with scheduling, promoting programs, creating or scheduling social media content, following up on sponsorship opportunities, updating website information, and other administrative or marketing tasks. The General Manager should be comfortable working some evenings, weekends, and peak golf season hours as needed. This is a hands-on role in a golf performance and training facility and requires a team-first attitude, flexibility, and a willingness to help wherever needed. Compensation Compensation will be $35,000 annually plus incentives . Incentive opportunities may be based on performance areas such as league participation, tournament growth, sponsorship sales, memberships, academy registrations, event bookings, social media growth, website-driven leads, and overall business development. Summary The General Manager will play a key role in the success and growth of the Golf Performance Center. This person will help create a clean, professional, welcoming environment while driving customer engagement, program participation, league and tournament activity, sponsorship opportunities, academy growth, digital marketing, website promotion, and overall business growth.
