This role is vital in ensuring properties are well-maintained, safe, and functional, providing a positive experience for residents, tenants, and visitors alike. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical aptitude, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to handle a variety of repair and maintenance tasks efficiently. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to property upkeep while developing your skills in facilities management. Responsibilities Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on building systems, appliances, and fixtures to ensure optimal operation. Conduct repairs involving plumbing, electrical systems, carpentry, welding, and mechanical components using schematics and technical manuals. Manage facilities maintenance tasks such as painting, drywall repair, flooring, and general handyman duties to uphold property standards. Utilize programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and ohmmeters to troubleshoot electrical issues accurately. Supervise or assist with larger projects, including supervising subcontractors or leading small teams during maintenance tasks. Maintain detailed records of work performed using CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) software for tracking repairs and scheduling future maintenance. Respond promptly to tenant or resident requests for repairs or assistance with a focus on exceptional customer service. Skills Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in facilities maintenance and residential painting. Proficiency with schematics, electrical systems, and troubleshooting tools such as ohmmeters. Hands-on experience with welding, plumbing, carpentry, and general handyman tasks. Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) used in building automation or manufacturing environments. Excellent communication skills in English to coordinate with tenants, vendors, and team members effectively. Supervising experience demonstrating leadership in managing maintenance projects or teams. Knowledge of CMMS software for work order management and record keeping. Ability to interpret technical schematics and mechanical drawings accurately.
