The Director Of Programs is responsible for the training and daily supervision of all program staff, program locations, facilities, policy implementation and safety of all program locations operated by First To Serve. Serve as a company representative on regulatory issues. Enhance the operational procedure, systems and principles in the areas of information flow and management, business processes, enhanced management reporting and looks for opportunities to expand systems Responsibilities are but not limited to:
  • Direct the administrative planning, policies and procedures after being approved by the Governing Board Develop an effective plan of action for running our programs from inception to completion Work with CEO to discuss and execute strategic planning for the business
  • Liaisons between President & CEO, Program Managers and Staff
  • Recruit, select, train, supervise, and evaluate staff; provide performance evaluations. Communicate job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising and reviewing job contributions
  • Provide leadership to program manager and staff in formulating program procedures
  • Conduct weekly monthly meetings and evaluate the effectiveness of the program and identify areas for improvement Manage daily operations that support and implement our current program objectives Strategically map-out a program schedule and timeline and ensure it is followed Oversee and advise program staff in various tasks Assess and manage program risks Suggest innovative plans and processes to improve program functions Develop work systems and processes that effectively drive productivity Suggest and help create marketing initiatives to increase awareness of program Set goals for the programs and track progress, set-backs, and overall performance Track, record, and compile program performance data Analyze program results and present findings to management Seek out new, creative program ideas to implement into our own Prepare and maintain budgets Help secure and manage program funding Provide strategic vision and strong leadership while directing our programs Excellent verbal and written skills With the help of the Case Manager, assess the client's needs to aid program planning, and evaluate the effectiveness of the existing programs and agency policies; identify areas for improvement and new programs: institute changes or make recommendations for major changes Perform related duties as assigned by President & CEO Education and/or
Work Experience Requirements:
  • Master's degree in management, human services, or related field, degree preferred. Proficient using Microsoft Suite (Excel, Outlook, Access, etc.)
  • 3+ years' experience as a director
  • Basic accounting and data management skills
  • Organized and detail-oriented
  • Exceptional communicator, both orally and written
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Experience with homelessness, substance abuse and psychiatric disability
  • One year's experience providing supervision to para-professional and/or other staff
