ABOUT OUR ENRICHMENT PROGRAM
We are a small, nature-inspired enrichment day camp rooted in child-led exploration, outdoor learning, and whole-child development. Our program is structured similar to a homeschool pod, with an intimate, flexible enrichment environment where children and instructors grow alongside one another in a close-knit, nurturing community. We bring in specialized tutors to help teach, inspire, and spark curiosity across a range of subjects and experiences. We believe that customized, child-led learning is how children thrive best, and that when a child's natural curiosity is honored, extraordinary things happen.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Executive Director serves as the operational and educational heart of the program. This individual works alongside the lead instructor and program owners to ensure a safe, enriching, and well-organized environment for every child. The ideal candidate brings classroom experience, a love of nature-based learning, and the organizational skills to keep our program running smoothly, all while being a warm, communicative presence for our families.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Program Leadership & Daily Operations Structure and plan the daily schedule and flow of each day Responsible for instruction of the curriculum Build and maintain the annual program calendar, including holidays, special events, and curriculum themes Update and maintain program website and online calendar Ensure smooth daily transitions, routines, and activity pacing appropriate for the age group Develop and implement age-appropriate, nature-based curriculum frameworks Oversee indoor and outdoor learning environment setup, organization and cleanliness Responsible for program growth through marketing activities and waitlist maintenance Team Collaboration Guide, mentor, and support the lead instructor in day-to-day instruction and program management Provide ongoing feedback, encouragement, and professional development opportunities for lead instructor Foster a team culture of creativity, care, and continuous improvement Family Communication & Community Conduct new family orientations and enrollment support Serve as the primary point of contact for parent questions, concerns, and updates Communicate program philosophy, daily updates, and upcoming events clearly and promptly Build trusting relationships with families through bilingual communication (written and verbal) Coordination with external vendors for community-based enrichment activities and events Operational & Owner Advisory Assess and make recommendations to owners for supplies, equipment, and program resources Maintain inventory of materials; proactively flag needs Assist in developing and updating program policies, handbooks, and emergency procedures Support licensing compliance and documentation as required by local/state regulations Maintain accurate student records, attendance, and incident documentation Health, Safety & Child Well-Being Ensure all safety protocols are followed during program hours Maintain current CPR and First Aid certification at all times (required) Administer basic first aid as needed; document and communicate all incidents appropriately Conduct regular safety checks of indoor and outdoor spaces
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
Required:
Bilingual:
English + Spanish (or other second language) — spoken and written Minimum 2 years of classroom or lead teaching experience (early childhood preferred) Current CPR & First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain before start date) Strong organizational skills with the ability to plan, prioritize, and adapt Excellent verbal and written communication skills with families and staff Deep commitment to the well-being, safety, and development of young children Proficiency or willingness to learn basic web design Ability to work independently as a 1099 contractor and manage own professional obligations
Preferred:
Background in home schooling, homeschooling pods, micro school, or alternative education environments Familiarity with Waldorf, Reggio Emilia, Montessori, or outdoor education philosophies Experience in an administrative or director-level education role Familiarity with local childcare licensing requirements Basic knowledge of child development frameworks (e.g., Ages & Stages, Desired Results)

Eligible Executive Directors will receive:
Full tuition waiver for their first child enrolled in the program Discounted tuition for any additional children enrolled (discount rate to be discussed at offer) This benefit is active for the duration of employment and is subject to program enrollment availability.
COMPENSATION
This is a part-time independent contractor (1099) position. Compensation is $35-$45 per hour, based on experience. As a 1099 contractor, the Executive Director is responsible for their own tax obligations.
