Job Description

DIVISION
Superior Court
CLASS DEFINITION
This class is accountable for receiving on the job training in professional tasks associated with facilitating and expediting the flow of criminal, civil and family cases through the court system.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED
Works under the general supervision of an employee of higher grade.
SUPERVISION EXERCISED
May supervise lower level employees as assigned.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES
Receives training in and is given progressively responsible assignments in the implementation of effective and efficient methods for processing and administering the progress of legal cases through the court system including such actions as arranging for juries, courtrooms, interpreters, witnesses and documents as outlined in the job description for Caseflow Coordinator I; assists in tracking and processing cases to disposition by judges, referees, fact finders, magistrates, juries and others; prepares trial schedules and notifies parties of those schedules; assists in analyzing caseflow statistics and preparing statistical and narrative reports on case movement through the judicial system; assists in analyzing continuance requests from attorneys and making recommendations to judges on granting continuances; assists in monitoring case flows through computer based and documentary data and sets and modifies trial schedules according to changing circumstances; performs related duties as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY
Knowledge of court operations, trial procedures and rules of practice; knowledge of the principles, concepts and methods of statistical analysis; knowledge of relevant state and federal laws; interpersonal skills, oral and written communication skills; database-oriented computer skills.
EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING
General Experience:
A Bachelor's degree.
