Salary Range $43.11-$54.97 Job Posting End Date - Applications will no longer be accepted starting 06-24-2026 Job Summary The Public Works Strategic Programs Manager is a leadership position responsible for coordinating department-wide strategic initiatives, workforce development, outreach programs, and administrative functions across all Public Works divisions. Serving as a key liaison between Division Managers, Business operation managers, fiscal managers, and leadership staff, this role helps align organizational goals, budget planning, employee development, and operational priorities. Reporting to the Public Works Optimization & Systems Division Manager, the position oversees critical programs related to training, recruitment, employee engagement, internships, and strategic projects while supervising staff and supporting continuous improvement throughout the department. Key Responsibilities Lead strategic initiatives and organizational improvement programs. Coordinate workforce planning, recruitment, training, and employee development programs. Oversee employee engagement, recognition, and retention initiatives. Manage the Public Works Internship Program. Coordinate department-wide outreach and community engagement efforts. Prepare reports, presentations, and recommendations for executive leadership. Supervise professional and administrative staff and support their development. Collaborate with division leaders to improve processes and operational effectiveness.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor Degree in Economics, Business, Public Administration, Public Policy, or a related field; four (4) years of experience in a responsible administrative/management capacity, including experience performing high-level functions to support the implementation of programs and experience developing and implementing training programs for departmental management and staff; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Valid Florida Driver's License required. Preferred Qualifications Experience in local government, public works, strategic planning, workforce development, employee engagement, recruitment, training, and program management. Strong leadership, communication, project management, and organizational skills. Important:
