with reSOURCE Government Services Working atMartin County Administration Public Records Division SUMMARY:
This position is responsible in assisting in the maintenance of the public records request fulfillment program that is compliant with the requirements of Chapter 119, Florida Statutes. In the event of a natural or man-made disaster that may threaten the area, the employee will be required to perform emergency duties as directed.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Receives Public Records requests; communicates with other departments in order to develop cost estimates, compile requested records, and transmit same. Tracks public records requests and ensures compliance with state and federal laws regarding the management of public records; consults with the Public Records Request Liaison prior to release of information to the requestor. Assist in reviewing requested records to ensure proper exemptions are asserted and responds in a timely manner. Assist in reviewing information to ensure confidentiality rules under HIPAA and other relevant laws are applied. Ensures accurate and legally compliant decisions are made regarding the disclosure or non-disclosure of information. Performs work related to this job description as required.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Knowledge of or ability to quickly learn divisional, department and County government administrative rules, regulations, policies and procedures. Knowledge of the Public Records Law and litigation discovery procedures. Ability to handle multiple assignments and meet internal and/or statutorily imposed deadlines. Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with customers, team members, supervisors and management. Ability to maintain confidentiality. EDUCATION and/orEXPERIENCE
An Associate's Degree in Legal Studies, Public Administration or Business Administration or closely related field and some experience in the legal field is preferred. Additional qualifying education and/or experience which provide the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities may be substituted one for the other on a year for year basis.CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must possess a valid Florida Driver's LicensePHYSICAL DEMANDS
