Apalachee Center, Inc. provides comprehensive behavioral health services. We are seeking an experienced accounting professional to serve as our Director of Finance. As the Director of Finance , you will apply accounting expertise to support agency financial operations, including general accounting, budgeting, and compliance. The ideal candidate must possess the capability to demonstrate independent judgement in managing accounting processes, analyzing financial data, and supporting program oversight. You will collaborate with leadership to ensure accurate reporting, regulatory compliance, and effective financial stewardship across agency programs. ESSENTIAL/CORE JOB-SPECIFIC
DUTIES and
RESPONSIBILITES
Supervision of all daily and monthly accounting functions, which include accounts payable, payroll, accounts receivable, deposits, accounting system distributions, and allocations. Will collaborate with the CFO to manage all agency contracts along with the associated billing, payments, and required reports. Will handle all tasks assigned by the CFO or requests by the independent auditors related to the completion of the annual agency audit report. Will coordinate with the CFO to maintain a schedule of all regulatory filing requirements and ensures compliance with said requirements. Manages disbursement from client trust funds. Approves disbursement of state allocated funds for client needs. Serves on special project workgroups or committees as required. All other duties as assigned by the CFO or CEO.
Education/Experience:
A minimum of a bachelor's degree with a major in accounting Five years of professional accounting experience preferred.
Licensure or Certification:
CPA License Competency/Skills Ability to supervise people. Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments. Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures relating to an accounting program. Ability to prepare and maintain a variety of accounting records. Ability to interpret accounting data. Ability to prepare financial statements and reports. Must be able to work independently and utilize problem solving techniques. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others. Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
