We are currently seeking a full-time and onsite Community Director in our Student Housing department. This position will report to the Assistant Director of Housing and Resident Life. This a full-time,12-month live-in position. The wage for this position is $43,888.08 annually.Primary Responsibilities:
Help to recruit, interview, hire, train, and supervise undergraduate student staff within the student housing division; Revise and maintain student staff training; Ensures that all student employment paperwork is completed in a timely, accurate, and efficient manner; Maintains a working knowledge of Purdue Fort Wayne policies and procedures; Facilitates semesterly performance evaluations for student staff; Consistently provides accurate and pertinent job and operational information to undergraduate student staff members; Works with the student staff to assess student needs and interests; Coordinate and supervise all RAs in conjunction with assigned communities; Coordinate large scale programing initiatives designed to engage the community of Student Housing Residents; Work with residents on a daily basis to answer questions, address concerns, and resolve conflicts; Communicate pertinent community and university information to Purdue Fort Wayne Student Housing residents in a professional and concise manner through posters, letters, email, or other forms of marketing and advertising; Monitor purchase requests and seeks appropriate purchasing approval; Establishes and maintains communication and rapport with students living in assigned campus housing through individual connecting points, meetings, and conversations; Addresses behavioral concerns; Serves as a Conduct Officer; Maintains confidentiality; Serves in an on-call duty rotation; Plans staff development opportunities; Manage residential budget; Serves on campus committees, as requested; Serves as key member in coordinating student move-in/move out processes; Other duties as assigned.Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree. 2 years of experience in Student Housing and Residential Life, and/or Higher Education Field. Higher Education experience. Must be able to live in campus housing. Supervision of student staff. Able to operate in crisis situations. Adaptability and creativity.Preferred Qualifications:
Masters, Masters in Higher Education (or similar) Degree. Experience as an Entry Level Housing Professional and supervising Residential Assistants.Benefits:
