Job Description

Purpose:
To ensure a high performance agency in which staff development, communication, teamwork, empowerment and program integrity is assured. To direct programming that assists survivors of domestic and sexual violence their families and friends through supportive services and advocacy while encouraging social change through awareness, education, and prevention.
RESPONSIBILITIES
A. Create a positive cultural environment of leadership, effective management, communication, and teamwork in which employees and volunteers find support, guidance, and successful opportunities to contribute. B. Develop and deliver an employee empowerment plan for direct reports. C. Ensure development of agency plans include and recognize survivor empowerment D. Attend community meetings, provide presentations and maintain contact with community agencies as appropriate. Update Leadership Team on community involvement and agendas for community meetings. E. Assist in the development of internal resources, policies, and procedures for the organization F. Correlate and submit all statistical data, program summaries, and reports G. Develop, implement and monitor training plan H. Direct and support coordinators in supervision and performance evaluation I. Supervision and performance evaluation for staff J. Responsible for presentation of speeches, seminars and training as required. K. Responsible for keeping abreast of current legislation, trends, etc. L. Responsible for working with the Executive Director to insure continuing program development. M. Responsible for developing written objectives, work plans, programming plans and standards. N. Responsible to attend all KCSDV meetings and other local and statewide meetings as necessary. O. Responsible for directing DSVC services for survivors of domestic and sexual violence, their families and friends. P. Responsible for developing and maintaining collaborative partnerships. QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS and
ABILITIES
  • Bachelor's degree in Social Services, Education, Psychology or related field or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum three years' experience in human services and/or not-for-profit organization.
  • Knowledge and experience providing supervision and support to employees and/or volunteers.
  • Knowledge and understanding of domestic violence, sexual assault and child abuse issues and trends.
  • Knowledge of service area resources preferred.
  • Knowledge of computer/internet programs to include Word, Excel, Outlook and Google Apps.
  • Express commitment to the empowerment of women and children.
  • Experience working with diverse people and groups.
  • Experience maintaining personal/professional boundaries and managing stress constructively.
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills; ability to handle multiple priorities.
  • Manage and resolve conflict.
  • Excellent initiative, integrity and strong sense of professionalism.
  • Possess valid Kansas driver's license, clean driving record, access to reliable transportation, & proof of current liability insurance.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • Convey detailed and/or important instructions or ideas accurately, audibly, and quickly.
  • Hear average or normal conversations and receive ordinary information.
  • Manual dexterity and able to use wrists, hands and/or fingers in repetitive motion.
  • Prepare and/or inspect documents and communications on computer or on paper.
  • Sitting for extended periods of time.
  • Bending, lifting, and carrying up to 40 pounds (donations/commodities).
WORK SCHEDULE
This position is exempt and requires a minimum of 40 hours per week. Evening and weekend hours may be required. On-call responsibilities as necessary
Pay:
$50,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
