Beauregard Parish Position Summary The Parish Treasurer is a senior financial management position responsible for overseeing the fiscal operations of the Parish. Under the direction of the Parish Administrator, the Treasurer manages budgeting, financial planning, cash management, investments, and financial reporting while ensuring compliance with all applicable state and federal laws and auditing requirements. Required Training and Experience Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university (preferred fields: Accounting, Public Administration, Business Administration, or related field) Equivalent responsible professional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree Minimum of eight (8) years of progressively responsible experience in accounting and purchasing Experience must be at or above an advanced accounting or comparable level of responsibility Essential Duties and Responsibilities Oversees Parish financial operations, including cash management, investments, revenue forecasting, and financial planning Ensures compliance with State Legislative Auditor requirements and applicable laws Receives and disburses Parish funds in accordance with law and authorization Maintains accurate financial records and prepares reports for governing authority meetings Administers the Parish budget process and monitors departmental budget Ability to speak professionally and present financial information in public meetings Supervises Accounting Specialists Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of governmental accounting, budgeting, and public finance Ability to analyze financial data and prepare reports Knowledge of investment practices for public funds How to Apply Interested applicants should submit an employment application through the Parish's official hiring process.Job Type:
