Full Job Description Recertification Specialist Compensation:
$24 - $25hr/ + $1,500 Sign on Bonus We are seeking an experienced Affordable Housing Specialist to support the day-to-day operations of a residential community. This role is heavily focused on compliance, resident relations, recertifications, and maintaining organized resident files in accordance with affordable housing regulations. The ideal candidate brings strong experience working within affordable housing programs such as LIHTC, Section 8, HUD, or other subsidized housing programs and is comfortable managing a high-volume recertification caseload in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Manage annual and interim recertifications from start to finish Process income, asset, and third-party verifications accurately and timely Maintain compliance with LIHTC, HUD, Section 8, and affordable housing regulations Communicate with residents regarding required documentation and deadlines Maintain organized resident and applicant files to ensure audit readiness Monitor upcoming lease renewals, vacancies, and compliance deadlines Assist with waitlist management and resident relations Support rent collection, notices, and general administrative responsibilities as needed Partner closely with property management to ensure smooth community operations Qualifications Affordable housing and recertification experience required Knowledge of LIHTC, HUD, Section 8, and compliance regulations strongly preferred Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills Experience with Yardi, OneSite, or similar property management software preferred Ability to manage deadlines and work independently in a fast-paced environment
