The Director is expected to have or rapidly develop a thorough knowledge of court organization, office practices, and to make decisions dealing with the public and employees in collaboration with Court Administration. Information obtained during the performance of these duties may be confidential or private in nature. As a representative of the Circuit Court, it is imperative that a high degree of judgment, tact, and diplomacy be exercised, and a professional demeanor alwaysmaintained.
The specific tasks and essential functions of the position are subject to change as the position develops. The Director reports directly to the Court Administrator but is ultimately accountable to the County Administrative Judge.

Manages the day-to-day operations and staff of the AJRC.Assists in the preparation, design, redesign and development of procedures, businesspractices, forms, and automated support in accordance with applicable law to implementand promote effective practices.
Develops partnerships to facilitate relationships between the Court and the community.
Prepares statistical reports for submission to the Administrative Office of the Court asrequested.
Prepares specific materials for ongoing initiatives.
Creates and design professional development opportunities.
Collects, analyze, maintain, and disseminate information about evolving best practicesaimed at the recruitment, hiring, retention, professional development, and promotion ofdiverse and inclusive talent.
Assists judges, attorneys, members of the public, and court personnel with questions and concerns regarding access to justice.
Attends and participate in meetings to discuss various court-related issues.
Examples of Other Duties Performs other assigned duties or tasks as required.
Physical and Environmental ConditionsThe work of this classification is essentially sedentary but may include occasional walking, standing, lifting of boxes, or other limited physical activities.

Full Job Description JOB Regular Schedule:
35 hours per week. A full-time, non-merit vacancy, with full County benefits, exists in the Circuit Court of Baltimore County. This job announcement may close at any time with little or no notice. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Definition of ResponsibilityThe Access to Justice Resource Center (AJRC) is an innovative space dedicated to helping self represented parties navigate the legal system by providing legal resources and information. The Director oversees the operations of the AJRC. The Director is responsible for the identification, coordination, and implementation of strategies, initiatives, and best practices to provide a fair, respectful, and dignified court experience for court users. The Director also manages interpretation services and handles requests from the public for ADA accommodations. The ideal candidate is expected to have a track record of success in promoting access to justice and the ability to work with a team of other legal service professionals.The Director is expected to have or rapidly develop a thorough knowledge of court organization, office practices, and to make decisions dealing with the public and employees in collaboration with Court Administration.
