Exempt Summary The Family Services Manager is responsible for the daily management of the agency's CSBG-funded program. This includes the supervision of staff, assigned budget responsibilities, and the overall operations of the program. This leadership position is responsible for assessing the needs of community residents and developing and implementing programs and services to improve their lives. The Family Services Manager must assist with the development of a long-term vision for the program that connects internally with the other key departments in serving individuals. This position is also responsible for developing key partnerships to leverage agency resources and bring other resources to meet the goals of our individuals and families. This position must maintain positive and responsive relationships with funds and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
DUTIESRESPONSIBILITIES
Oversee all programs offered by the
Family Services Department:
Plan, organize and manage the day-to-day operations of the Family Services Department and program to meet the needs of our families and individuals. Manage the department's annual client services budget. Includes the timely submission of any budget revisions. Serve as the point of contact to develop required reports for local, state and federal funding sources as required. Stay abreast of industry best practices and inform the Chief Executive Officer where program improvements are warranted. Responsible for meeting program goals and performance targets. Responsible for entering and verifying applicant data and waitlisted applicants Responsible for ensuring customer satisfaction Review and verify data entered in the CARDS system and ensure entries are done in a timely manner. Provide periodic reviews of client files, case notes, and client development plans. Ensure the appropriate balance of client services vs. case management to ensure the expectations of our clients and funders are met. Ensure appropriate level of case management based on client needs. Intervene where needed to assist case managers with clients in volatile situations. Establish an aggressive outreach program to potential and current programs. Collaborate with other departments to ensure that families and individuals are getting the full benefit of the agency's programs and services. Responsible for developing meaningful, results-oriented collaborations with local agencies for housing, emergency assistance, education, and job placement resources Responsible for submitting statistical and monthly management reports to the Chief Executive Officer Attend workshops/conferences as needed to enhance job performance. Review and sign-off on payment requests for services. As a leader in the agency, embrace and demonstrate the values outlined in the Core Values. Community Engagement Interface with the community through meetings, fairs, etc. to share information about the services provided by the agency. Participate in quarterly sessions with program participants to get feedback on program improvements and successes. Work with public and private agencies to develop collaborative efforts to provide goods and services to our clients. Assist in developing marketing materials and website updates to keep everyone informed of the program requirements. Engage in advocacy campaigns and activities as required. Staff Supervision Participate in pre-employment interviews and make hiring recommendations, (may include cross-departmental interview processes). Interpret and apply agency personnel policies and procedures along with Family Services departmental policy and procedures. Oversee and participate in staff training. Prepare and administer performance appraisals and discuss with subordinates as appropriate. Detailed performance measurements are to be provided to all staff. Counsel employees regarding job performance and document in accordance with the agency's policies and procedures. Where necessary, take appropriate disciplinary action. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge of the principles and practices of social work and case management. Knowledge of career counseling, clinical counseling, and the delivery of social services. Knowledge of basic computer skills, including but not limited to Microsoft; Excel, Word and Power Point. Knowledge of case management software is a plus. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Knowledge of funding sources and experience with compliance, policies, and procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum:
BS/BA degree in social sciences, (including but not limited to sociology, psychology) business administration or a closely related field. Three (3) years' of progressively responsible work and experience in human services or social work that includes experience working with low-income families and individuals with one (1) year being in a successful supervisory capacity, good written and oral communication skills; able to attend periodic out of town workshops/conferences.
Preferred:
Master's degree in social sciences (including but not limited to sociology, psychology) business administration or a closely related field; Five (5) years' progressively responsible work and experience in human services or social work that includes experience working with low-income families and individuals with two (2) of them being in a supervisory capacity and above minimum qualifications.
Other:
