docx Information for Applicants 2026.docx Housing Officer (Fixed Term) Job description We are looking for an individual to join Tenancy Services as a Housing Officer on a fixed term basis for 3 years, working in one of our Tenancy Management teams. The teams provide the front-line service to Council tenants in the City of Lincoln, dealing with such issues as rent arrears, anti-social behaviour and general estate management duties.
Key responsibilities:
  • Provide an effective and efficient high quality tenancy management service to the tenants and leaseholders living in the council's housing stock in order to maintain a good landlord / tenant relationship and strive towards tenancy sustainment.
  • Maximise the council's rental income through effective income management and arrears recovery.
  • Ensure and enforce compliance with the tenancy agreement and carry out effective management of the estate environment, promoting and supporting effective resident involvement. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:
  • Minimum six months experience of working in social housing, tenancy management or related public service field.
  • Knowledge of tenancy management issues relevant to registered housing providers.
  • Ability to handle conflict and adopt a firm but fair approach.
  • Experience of effective negotiation.
  • Ability to make decisions using own initiative.
