Job Description
SALARY:
The hourly rate for this position is $20.00. This position is limited to a maximum of 35 hours per week, not to exceed 944 hours in a fiscal year. Interns would be required to work a minimum of 10 hours. The Judiciary offers a strong opportunity for growth. The Monmouth Vicinage is seeking college students with strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills for a paid internship opportunity within the court system for Fall 2026 . This internship provides hands-on experience in judicial operations and public administration while supporting court proceedings and services. Interns will perform a variety of clerical, administrative, and customer service duties in connection with matters instituted before the Court. Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, data entry, database research, document processing, filing, scanning, photocopying, and assisting court staff and members of the public. Interns will gain broad exposure to court processes, case management, and the overall structure of the judiciary. Internships may be available in the following divisions : Civil, Criminal, Family, Probation, Finance, Information Technology (IT), Equal Employment Opportunity/Affirmative Action (EEO/AA), Court User Resource Center/Ombudsman's Office, Trial Court Administration Regular and predictable physical presence at the worksite is an essential function of this position.- Assist with answering phones, returning phone calls, and receiving and distributing voicemails
- Contact and follow up with applicants and/or members of the public
- Perform special projects
- Conduct research and analysis
- Perform computer related work
- Collect and enter data
- Provide customer service
- Draft correspondence and memos
- Attend community planning meetings
- Organize and scan paper files and upload into an electronic filing system
- Assist staff and perform other duties as directed Thirty credit hours from an accredited college or university pursuing a degree.
Physical Ability:
For some positions, applicants must have the ability to perform work which requires climbing and prolonged standing, stretching, bending and reaching. The selected candidate must be able to frequently lift and carry supplies weighing from 30 to 50 pounds and, occasionally, materials weighing up to 75 pounds.Driver's License:
Appointee will be required to possess a driver's license valid in New Jersey only if the operation of a vehicle is necessary to perform essential duties of the position. Authorization toWork:

14-7 (L. 2011, Chapter 70), the "New Jersey First Act," all persons newly hired by the Judiciary within one year must establish, and then maintain, principal residence in the State of New Jersey. Any person may request an exemption from that requirement from the Employee Residency Review Committee in the Department of Labor & Workforce Development on the basis of either hardship or employer critical need.HOW TO APPLY
