Job Description

Position Summary:
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking an Assistant Director (Confidential) for University Academic Affairs. The Assistant Director reports to the Director of the Office of Teaching Evaluation and Assessment Research and collaborates with stakeholders across schools, departments, and faculty to develop meaningful assessments and effective use of the course evaluation system, SIRS. Among the key duties of the position are the following: Provides training and consultation to administrators completing the SIRS verification process and to faculty onboarding to SIRS procedures. Trains administrators on the
BLUE/SIRS
dashboard, constructs and verifies SIRS reports, and creates specialized reports as needed. Leads assessment workshops and supports the development of assessment plans in alignment with faculty collective bargaining agreements. Reviews proposed learning outcomes and program assessment processes for new academic programs and external grant funding proposals, as needed. Supports two university-wide assessment councils. Prepares and distributes documents, including cost-related analyses that may be used by executives, including requests by the Office of University Labor Relations, and the Office of General Counsel in support of the university's labor negotiations efforts and in support of labor relations functions related to the administration of collective negotiations agreements.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree and a minimum of five years' progressively responsible experience in assessment, institutional research, program evaluation, or a related field.
