Job Description
Associate Director, Financial Planning and Analysis Geron 160000.00 To 175000.00 (USD) Annually life insurance, sick time, 401(k) United States, Jersey, Parsippany May 05, 2026 Position Summary The Associate Director of Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) will be responsible for providing financial planning, reporting, business insight, and analysis to support all functions across the organization. The Associate Director will serve as a business partner who has the ability to work in a corporate planning system, including reporting applications, to support and collaborate with business functions to drive business decisions, growth, and profitability by analyzing financial data, identifying trends, and managing the system and data warehouse. The Associate Director will partner closely with the Accounting team on month-end close activities and will be involved with various process improvements projects. The Associate Director will report to the Senior Director of Financial Planning and Analysis. Primary Responsibilities Collaborate with Accounting on the month-end and quarter-end close processes, including accruals, reconciliations, pre-paid, etc.
Review contracts and purchase requisitions to ensure financial compliance
Assist in preparation of Quarterly Audit Committee and Board of Directors presentations
Perform balance sheet, P&L, cashflow analysis, including COGS and CAPEX/Fixed Assets analysis, to support operational decision making
Prepare regular financial reports and dashboards to provide insights into business performance
Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to commercial activities
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop quarterly forecast, annual budget, and short/long-range plans
Monitor budget versus actual performance and provide variance analysis and commentary
Identify opportunities for cost control and revenue growth
As necessary and in collaboration with the Head of FP&A, build and maintain financial models to support commercial strategies and investment decisions
Conduct scenario analysis to evaluate the potential impact of different strategies on financial outcomes
Partner with the cross functional teams on various projects and initiatives
Conduct ad hoc financial analysis to answer specific business questions and support decision making
Proactively identify opportunities for improvements/efficiencies, communicate findings, implement solutions Competencies Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment

Superior analytical skills and ability to think creatively and strategically
Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and competing priorities with high energy and self-motivation
Strong business acumen and knowledge of the Company's markets, products, and industry trends
Excellent Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills
Strong knowledge of accounting (GAAP) and financial principles Experience Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field; master's degree a plus
Minimum of 7 years of financial experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry; commercialization experience preferred
Experience with Adaptive and Power BI financial planning system and ERP systems required
In-depth FP&A experience at a start-up, as well as the foundation of best practices which comes from having worked within a larger organization
Experience in building financial plans and forecasts with a focus on accuracy and good data interpretation skills
Experience with data analytics, business visualization, and systems automations
Sophisticated financial modeling experience, including the buildout of detailed operating models and dashboards from scratch
Experience with enterprise planning software (Great Plains, Management Reporter, etc.), including design and on-going efficiency enhancements
A demonstrated track record of leading and collaborating cross-functionally to gain buy-in, support, and assistance from key stakeholders

Offered compensation is determined based on market data, internal equity, and an applicant's relevant skills, experience, and educational background.General Salary Range:
