In this vital role, you will ensure a safe, nurturing environment while managing program development, staff supervision, and community relationships. Your leadership will empower residents to achieve greater independence and well-being through innovative programming and dedicated support. Duties Provide strong leadership and management of all safe house operations, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and state regulations Develop, implement, and evaluate programs tailored to meet the needs of individuals with developmental disabilities, promoting their social, emotional, and behavioral growth Supervise staff members, including hiring, training, performance evaluations, and ongoing professional development Foster positive relationships with residents, families, community partners, and service providers to enhance support networks Oversee administrative functions such as budgeting, record-keeping, and reporting to ensure efficient program delivery Monitor behavioral health interventions and ensure best practices are applied to support residents' mental health needs Ensure safety protocols are maintained at all times and respond promptly to emergencies or incidents within the facility Skills Proven management experience in a residential or social services setting Strong program development skills with a focus on person-centered approaches for individuals with developmental disabilities Extensive experience working directly with individuals with developmental disabilities and understanding their unique needs Excellent relationship management abilities to collaborate effectively with families, staff, community agencies, and stakeholders Solid administrative skills including budgeting, documentation, and compliance reporting Supervisory experience leading diverse teams in a fast-paced environment Knowledge of behavioral health principles and best practices in social work or related fields
Education and Experience:
  • Master's degree in Social Work, Public Administration, Human Services, or related field
  • Minimum 5 years experience in residential services, preferably domestic violence or trauma programs
  • Minimum 3 years of supervisory or leadership experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge of domestic violence dynamics, trauma-informed care, and survivor empowerment
Core Competencies:
  • Proven leadership skills with ability to manage teams, implement change, and develop organizational capacity
  • Program management experience including policy development and quality improvement
  • Understanding of DCF requirements, Coalition standards, and Domestic/Sexual violence regulations
  • Excellent communication skills for diverse stakeholder engagement
  • Cultural competency to serve diverse survivor populations
  • Strong collaborative skills
  • Technology proficiency for database management and reporting systems
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English
  • Experience with nonprofit strategic planning and organizational development
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed organizational practices
