JOB STANDARDS
Bachelor's Degree in one of the following fields: finance, accounting, business, public administration, human services, social work, or a related field; OR education or experience in interviewing techniques, business math, case preparation techniques, business writing, customer service techniques and computer technology. Minimum of three (3) years related work experience demonstrating increasing responsibilities in supervision and fiscal issues. Must have good verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrates regular and predictable attendance. Consistently and continually represents the agency in a positive and professional manner and provides appropriate internal and external customer service.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Schedules, assigns and reviews work. Evaluates performance, ensuring all work is in adherence to departmental standards and pertinent government regulations. Issues oral and written reprimands, recommends suspension and termination, and recommends other personnel actions (e.g. leave of absence, wage increase, etc.). Authorizes sick and vacation leave. Provides training, guidance and direction and assists with the development of agency policy and procedures. Advises the deputy director and agency director of unit needs and/or concerns providing a potential solution. Prepares activity reports and compiles related statistics and completes special projects as assigned by the deputy director and agency director. Prepares budget and cash forecasts and monitors budget ongoing for compliance. Recommends variances of expenses to ensure budget compliance. Communicates with director and deputy director issues regarding the budget. Authorizes purchases/expenditures/payments. Develops and maintains fiscal reports. Develops quality control procedures and standards to ensure compliance with all county, state and federal requirements. Recommends practices and procedures for budget compliance. Handles and resolves complaints from customers, community and partner agencies. Attends court hearings as necessary. Attends and at times facilitates internal and external meetings. Maintains required licensures and certification, if any. Supervisors Fiscal Officer, and other staff as assigned.
