GED Full Job Description General Definition:
The District Court Operations Manager works in an elected Magisterial District Judges' office. By definition, this position is the clerical staff person in charge of the operations of the District Court. The District Court Operations Manager serves as the coordinating link between the elected Magisterial District Judge and the operations of the office and ensures that the procedures, as established by the Administrative Office of Pennsylvania Courts and the Lehigh County Court Administration office and as verified by both State and County audits, are undertaken properly.
Typical Examples of Work:
The District Court Operations Manager must be able to perform all of the duties that any staff member would be responsible to undertake including all of the following: computer operations in summary, criminal, and traffic cases; all computer fiscal operations, including the payment of fines and costs, warrant fees, collateral, bail and civil-server fees, as well as, all counter activities with customers of the Court. Responsibilities include completing staff evaluations on an annual basis at minimum; ordering office supplies; ensuring that payment requests are submitted for office cleaning staff; serving as the primary contact between and answerable to the Court Administration office; attendance at bi- monthly clerical staff meetings and distributing information from that meeting to the office staff and elected MDJ; generation of weekly and monthly checks, fiscal reports and the proper distribution of those funds and report information; completion of reports, including caseload comparisons, quarterly income from fines and costs, and various inventory reports for office equipment; compilation and distribution of end-of-year IRS income statements to constables as well as the IRS. Performs related work as required.
Required Knowledge, Skills,Abilities:
Knowledge of the Court's functions for explanation to the staff, as well as, instructing the staff regarding changes that occur either as procedures change or statues are enacted. Knowledge of the Court office operations. Ability to oversee the office staff and document unsatisfactory behavior which is reported to court administration through both formal and informal meetings relative to employee discipline.
