In this vital role, you'll provide essential administrative support and serve as the Case Assignment Coordinator. Your expertise in legal and court policies, procedures, and rules will guide your independent decision-making within established guidelines. You'll assist attorneys by opening and closing cases, identifying potential conflicts, and ensuring that all case information is complete and accurate. Work With Us | Maricopa County, AZ We Require Three years of progressively responsible legal, court, justice system, or administrative support-related experience High school diploma or GED A combination of post-secondary education and/or job-related experience may substitute for the minimum qualifications on a year-for-year basis We Also Value Experience in an indigent defense or justice system agency Experience using criminal case management systems such as Justware, JuNe, or ICIS Job Contributions Initiates, updates, and edits case management records using other records systems (JuNe, iCIS, Justware) Identifies potential conflicts Researches and resolves data transactions/EDMS errors Updates, tracks, and reports assignments and caseloads per attorney Reviews court/case documents, interprets significance, and when appropriate, enters information into the database and court calendaring system Updates and coordinates calendars to avoid scheduling conflicts and assists in arranging coverage when required Types and prepares routine legal and administrative correspondence Types case notes and other simple legal/administrative documents Maintains training manuals and cross-trains co-workers as needed Working Conditions Most work is performed in an office environment Ability to work with traumatic subject matter, including child abuse Work in close physical proximity with others, public contact, and overtime may be a common occurrence Standing and/or sitting for long periods of time May be required to lift, carry, or push 25-35 pounds for 200-300 feet Hybrid work schedule available after the training period Selection Procedure Consideration will only be given to candidates who submit online applications Candidates will be contacted primarily through email and their Workday online application profile Must pass a pre-employment background and/or fingerprint investigation as required by statute or policy, including drug and alcohol testing requirements for positions designated as safety-sensitive Maricopa County is an equal opportunity employer and is committed to providing equal employment opportunities to all applicants.
