This position is a member of our Budget and Planning Division.
HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL BE
DOINGPerform highly advanced managerial work, providing direction and guidance to the Budget and Planning Division. Oversee the daily activities establish goals, objectives, and direct agency budget operations in accordance with state requirements. Establish priorities, standards, and performance metrics for meeting goals and objectives. Oversee key budgetary activities•Legislative Appropriations Request, Strategic Plan, fiscal impact of proposed or new legislation, approved operating budget, performance measures, and analysis of the agency's expenditure trends and budget projections. Ensure quality control, reliability and accuracy of agency financial information in the development, implementation, monitoring and ongoing management of the agency's budget and financial position. Prepare and present financial information to TCEQ's leadership and management.
Qualifications:
KEY QUALIFICATIONS
Experience in state government accounting and management, including experience with the State of Texas legislative budget processes. Experience with USAS (Uniform Statewide Accounting System), CAPPS (Centralized Accounting Payroll/Personnel System), ABEST (Automated Budget and Evaluation System).
REQUIRED EDUCATION
EXPERIENCEGraduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major course work in a field relevant to assignment.

ORExperience in the management of a business function, division, or department to include professional management experience where primary duties consist of planning organizing, controlling, and directing the work of an organization or formal subdivision, or team.

Employees in this classification series may research, work on, or have access to critical infrastructure, including but not limited to a communication infrastructure system, cybersecurity system, electric grid, hazardous waste treatment system, or water treatment facility. See Tex. Business Commerce Code Section 117.001(2). Accordingly, the ability to maintain the security or integrity of the infrastructure is a requirement to be hired for and to continue to be employed with
