Posting Details Position Information Posting Number S06790P Position Title Director of Practicum Education Department Social Work Location Arlington Position Status Full-time Work Schedule Monday - Friday; 8:00am - 5:00pm Ability to travel to different campus locations, on occasion. May include remote and virtual work outside an office. Salary Salary is commensurate based on qualifications and relevant experience up to $80,000. Pay Basis Monthly Job Summary The Director of Practicum Education will provide organization, supervision and leadership of the SSW Practicum Education department. Work closely with the Assistant Dean of Academic Affairs and the Academic Affairs team to develop and implement practical solutions to complex Practice problems; Monitor and supervise the day-to-day operations of the Practicum Education team; Direct efforts to expand new practicum placement opportunities for students. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Provide strategic planning and operational oversight for the practicum education office, including supervision of Practicum Education Specialists and support staff; recruitment and development of practicum sites, training of practicum instructors and liaisons, and the assignment of students to appropriate placements in accordance with the guidelines of the Council on Social Work Education. Actively monitor and evaluate all aspects of practicum placement operations and develop and implement interventions as needed to improve efficiency and effectiveness. Maintain relationships with agency leaders and Practicum Instructors through clear and frequent communication; Review and mediate issues between practicum students ( SSR reviews) and Practicum Instructors when Liaisons are unable to achieve resolution. Collaborate with other CSWE -accredited programs and engage in CSWE leadership opportunities to guide and implement best practices in practicum education. Create, coordinate, and manage student orientation for social work practicum education, ensuring students are prepared for practicum expectations, program policies, ethical standards, and professional practice requirements. Perform other related duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Master's degree in Social Work ( MSW ) from a CSWE -accredited institution. Two (2) years of post-graduate, clinical, or administrative social work practice experience is required. Three (3) years of leadership and supervisory experience in developing and directing the work of a team of professional staff or an equivalent mix of education and relevant experience in similar role. Demonstrated success working with various populations. Preferred Qualifications Terminal degree completed in one of the following areas: social work, higher education, advising, student affairs administration, educational policy and leadership, or student services, personnel administration, or closely related area from an accredited college or university. Demonstrated experience with the implementation of a program review such as those offered by the Council for the Advancementof Standards in Higher Education (e.g., CAS ) or CSWE Accreditation.
