T&T Supermarkets is marking over 30 years as Canada's favorite Asian grocery store and recently announced multiple new store locations in the United States. Our growth into the US offers great opportunities within our first US flagship store, opened in 2024 in Bellevue, Washington in the Marketplace at Factoria, spanning 76,000 sq.ft. and standing as the largest Asian specialty supermarket in Washington state. We have established our regional office in the greater Los Angeles area to grow T&T Supermarket's vendor base with American food suppliers. The role If you are passionate about retail and eager to build a career in Merchandising, we invite you to join our team as an Assistant Buyer. Reporting directly to the Category Manager, this role plays a key part in supporting the buying function within assigned product categories. The Assistant Buyer works closely with cross-functional internal teams and both domestic and overseas suppliers to support category performance. Responsibilities include generating and analyzing sales and performance reports, tracking project timelines and follow-up actions, coordinating marketing POP materials, and assisting with various initiatives related to the assigned product category.

You Will:

Support the buying team by coordinating and following up with local and overseas vendors for assigned product categories Assist Buyers with purchase orders, pricing updates, and promotional activities Maintain and update product, cost, and supplier data, including new item setup, SKU maintenance, and item delisting Assist with new product setup, SKU maintenance and item delisting Communicate with vendors regarding assigned product categories to ensure timely follow-ups, strong vendor relationships, and product availability Collaborate with internal departments and retail stores on promotional campaigns, marketing materials, product launches, project timelines, and follow-up actions Prepare periodic and ad hoc reports related to store sales, inventory, category performance, and special events in a timely and accurate manner Provide data analysis, administrative, and clerical support as required Prepare marketing and promotional materials, including translation between English and Chinese Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor

You Should Have:

Bachelor's degree preferred, in Business, Marketing or other related field Possess good knowledge, passion and awareness in Asian grocery products is a plus Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization including external stakeholders Familiarity with inventory or ERP System Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Chinese (Cantonese and/or Mandarin) is a plus Able to work independently with minimum supervision and as part of a team Ability to prioritize and deliver multiple assignments promptly and accurately Experience handling overseas suppliers will be a plus advanced knowledge in MS Excel, proficient in MS Word and Outlook About T&T T&T Supermarkets is marking over 30 years as Canada's favorite Asian grocery store.
