Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented Purchasing Assistant for a contract-to-hire opportunity in Livermore, CA. This role is ideal for an organized administrative professional with purchasing exposure, strong data entry skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The Purchasing Assistant will support purchasing, order tracking, vendor communication, receiving documentation, and accounting system updates. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys improving processes, building checklists and systems, and helping a growing team stay organized and efficient. The work environment values proactive problem-solving, dependable follow-through, teamwork, and strong communication with internal teams, vendors, and customers. Key Responsibilities
  • Track and receive purchase orders, enter order data into the accounting system, and reconcile documentation for accuracy.
  • Receive packages, sign packing slips, scan documents into the order tracking system, and match packing slips to vendor invoices.
  • Verify vendor invoice costs against purchase orders and follow up on discrepancies as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of client accounts, contacts, purchase orders, and related documentation.
  • Communicate order status, delivery updates, and direct-ship information to managers, customers, and vendors.
  • Support process improvement by developing checklists, tracking tools, and organized systems to streamline purchasing activities. Compensation and Benefits

    $23.00 to $25.00 per hour.
