We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Purchasing Assistant to support our operations team in sourcing plant materials, preparing project estimates, and coordinating deliveries for active job sites. Duties Source and purchase trees, shrubs, and landscape materials for commercial landscape projects. Develop and maintain relationships with nurseries, growers, and material suppliers. Request and compare vendor quotes to secure the best pricing and availability. Prepare bid sheets and assist with estimating material costs for new project proposals. Price plant material and other landscape products for upcoming bids and contracts. Coordinate and schedule material pickups and deliveries to multiple job sites. Track purchase orders, delivery schedules, and inventory needs. Communicate with project managers, superintendents, and vendors to ensure timely material availability. Resolve delivery discrepancies, shortages, and supplier issues as needed. Maintain accurate purchasing records and vendor databases. Skills Experience in purchasing, procurement, estimating, landscaping, nursery operations, or a related field preferred. Knowledge of landscape materials, trees, shrubs, and plant identification is a plus. Strong organizational and multitasking skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and other office software. Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines. Excellent communication and negotiation skills. Valid driver's license preferred. Effective communication skills combined with a proactive attitude towards problem-solving in a fast-moving environment.
