Our family owned styling means senior management at KD Construction is very hands-on and accessible. KD has grown to become one of Florida's premier concrete shell and drywall contractors focusing primarily on multi-family residential apartment complexes, condominiums, hotels, retirement communities, as well as workforce and student housing. Our typical projects range in size from just under 300,000-SF to over 1,000,000-SF. KD has successfully completed projects representing over 100,000 apartment and residential units throughout the Southern United States. We are positioned to address the needs of clients almost anywhere in the nation. Furthermore, we are fully bondable and our contracts currently range in size between $3,000,000 to $60,000,000. The majority of our completed projects every year are executed on behalf of repeat customers. JOB SUMMARY
Assist in the function of purchasing items and services alongside the Purchasing Director, including scheduling, planning, budget review, and coordinating of product orders to ensure that goals or objectives of said project(s) are accomplished within the prescribed time frame and funding parameters.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
 Serve as liaison between vendors and KD, to include, but not limited to o Purchase and negotiate pricing for all consumables, tools, and rentals. o Review concrete product submittals to ensure all needed items are included with purchase, review alternate product due to availability and/or VE options. o RFQ - Request for quotes from KD supplier network as needed. o Develop and maintain vendor relationships  Provide service and product information to KD internal customers. o Receive order requests from the field and determine best price and availability, and issue orders to vendor. o Pull inventory stock as needed based on order requests. o Weekly job site visits o Communicate order confirmation and ETA with KD Order Requestor, to include tracking and issue resolutions with delivery / availability. o Daily KPI reporting on open orders vs delivered product. o EOM functions as assigned by the Purchasing Director.  Monitor KD Construction Asset Management (One Key) software, to include but not limited to the following. o Document purchased tools into OneKey. Analyze information in OneKey for future purchase requests and warranty/repair status. o Assist in maintaining information of transfers, service requests, and incoming tool inventory documentation.  Advocate and assist in the use of KD Construction procurement (Subbase) software. o Participate in training sessions for new users of software. o Communicate to the user of software any errors and corrections to be made. o Work with the Purchasing Director on training of any new features and/or updates for the procurement software.  Assist Purchasing Director with special projects and general responsibilities of the Purchasing Department.  Performs other related administrative and technical duties that may be assigned or requested by immediate supervision.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
 High School Diploma required.  Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a related field and/or at least 2 years of construction purchasing experience preferred.  Show creativity, efficiency, and discipline by providing excellent customer service to office and field staff, being able to focus on tasks at hand while working in a fast-paced environment.  Ability to get along and work well with large groups of people.  An analytical and critical thinking ability for procurement efficiency.  Must know how to prioritize tasks.  Must have the ability to use judgement and discretion when making decisions in the absence of a supervisor.  Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced ever-changing environment.  Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office; Procore and Subbase preferred.
PHYSICAL / MENTAL REQUIREMENTS
The incumbent must be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable workplace accommodation. The individual must also be able to wear and properly utilize appropriate personal protective equipment, if required to work or visit the jobsite. This may include hard hat, safety glasses, respirators, ear plugs, steel-toed shoes, personal flotation devices, or other equipment as required by the work performed and location the work is being done. The incumbent must possess the ability to remain calm during emergencies and respond appropriately as dictated by the circumstances of the incident and as directed by the Safety Representative or other management personnel. Must be capable of evacuating the work area in a timely manner, should an emergency situation arise. In addition, the employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
