Palm Beach, FL Summary:
The Assistant Director of Purchasing is responsible for the sourcing, procurement, and timely fulfillment of all food, beverage, provisions, raw materials, supplies, and equipment required to support food production and other essential supplies required by The Sailfish Club of Florida. This role ensures the consistent availability of high-quality products while maintaining cost efficiency, vendor relationships, and compliance with organizational standards. This position offers strong opportunities for professional growth and advancement within the organization, allowing the individual to expand their leadership responsibilities, develop strategic procurement initiatives, and contribute to long-term operational excellence.

Director of Purchasing and Executive Chef Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Works closely with F&B management and culinary team to provide input, updates and to ensure product acquisition, quality assurance expectations and SFC standards are met. Manages truck delivery schedule and fulfilment of all food and beverage. Coordinates delivery process for F&B purchase orders follow-up, corrective measures governing returns, shortages, unacceptable substitution/equivalent, product quality, invoice pricing discrepancies and credits. Verifies purchases by comparing them to SFC purchasing software system. Troubleshoots vendor delivery issues and oversees the life cycle of the product from delivery to storage. Monitors par levels for all food & beverage products, operational supplies and assigned commodities to ensure proper levels. Assists with the receiving process for incoming food and beverage and operational supplies as needed. Ensures food and beverage products are within their expiration dates and dead stock is reported to the Executive Chef and leadership team. Adheres to food safety and handling policies and procedures across all food-related areas. Ensures purchase orders are closed in the relevant Systems. Monitors performance for assigned suppliers, provide feedback to suppliers about performance, and bring any areas of heightened concern or ideas to the Purchasing Director. Assists in physical inventory and cycle counts as needed. Plans and executes additional projects as assigned by the Executive Chef, F&B Controller or the General Manager. Utilize procedures that minimize operating costs for purchasing and storage of food items. Training, education and development of other SFC culinary and purchasing team members. Qualifications:
2 years minimum experience in food procurement in a similar sized resort, hotel, or private club. Excel and purchasing, inventory, and accounting software.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Standing for long period of time Ability to lift 50 lbs.to waist level Work in variable temperature environment
