Job Description

Administrative Assistant, Purchasing Department Are you detail-oriented, organized, and experienced in purchasing support? Are you looking for a stable, full-time position with a dynamic and growing company? If so, The Islander Group wants to hear from you!
About Us:
We are The Islander Group, Hawaii's premier wholesale distribution company, specializing in national and local gift and beach products. We proudly serve major retailers like Wal Mart, Target, ABC Stores, the Military, and more. Our products range from beach chairs, towels, and snorkel sets to sunscreens, coconut oil, and souvenirs. Since 1992, we have been creating and distributing products that reflect the spirit of Hawaii.
Your Role:
As an Administrative Assistant, you will support our Purchasing Department by processing purchase orders, coordinating shipments, maintaining inventory records, and ensuring smooth communication with vendors and internal teams. Your attention to detail and organizational skills will help keep our operations running efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
Inventory report preparation and analysis for reorders. Data entry and file maintenance. Process Purchase Order. Daily communication by phone or email with interdepartmental members and outside vendors. Reconcile daily receipts.
What We Are Looking For:
Strong communication, analytical, problem solving and organizational skills. Must be able to work independently, have initiative as well as a positive attitude. Proficient computer skills in building spreadsheets and word documents. Ability to meet deadlines. 2 or more years of experience in a similar office position, purchasing experience a plus. Must be 18 years of age or older, and a high school graduate or equivalent. Must pass all pre-employment tests (drug test & background check). Why The Islander Group?
