Job Description

Job Overview :
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Purchasing Assistant to join our team. In this vital role, you will drive the sourcing, negotiation, and purchasing processes to ensure the timely acquisition of quality materials, products, and services at the right price point. We are looking for someone specifically with extensive experience with construction materials and purchasing processes involving in the electrical construction field. The Purchasing Agent must know the basics of electrical materials, including stock items as well as lighting fixture packages, service materials, generators, wire, everyday devices and low voltage systems. Besides the purchasing function, the job requires the individual to work with the warehouse to oversee the function, supervise as needed and suggest and implement new and improved processes to streamline warehouse operations. Duties include but not limited to: Source suppliers and negotiate quotes to secure the best pricing, quality, and delivery terms for materials and services. Issue purchase orders, create material package submittals, qualifying and quantifying purchases, release packages upon receipt of approvals from customers via submittal process Experience using Procore for submittals including tracking status of approval Maintain and foster relationships with suppliers and manufacturers, fairly spreading out new purchase opportunities between suppliers Collaborate and communicate effectively with project managers, office, warehouse and customer representatives as needed Monitor supplier performance, manage vendor relationships, and resolve any issues related to delivery or quality to maintain a reliable supply chain, track returns. Oversee inventory control activities by coordinating with logistics teams to optimize stock levels and reduce excess or obsolete inventory. Maintain communication with field employees to make sure warehouse team gets daily lists of material needed for the warehouse team to prepare in advance and load to their vehicle that evening for the following day's work. Procure any materials required on these lists that is not already in stock Review office generated work orders and verify material required and hand in work order to boss for scheduling once all material is received and accounted for in the warehouse
