DESCRIPTION

Employee is responsible for initiating the competitive bidding process for the purchasing of goods and services used by Albany County departments under the procedures and guidelines under General Municipal Law. Work is performed in collaboration with County Departments and direction of the Purchasing Agent and Deputy Purchasing Agent.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

EITHER:

A.Graduation from an accredited college or university with at least a Bachelor's Degree in Business or Accounting and one (1) year of experience in any aspect of governmental, industrial or organizational purchasing; OR, B.Graduation from an accredited college or university with an Associate's Degree in Business or Accounting and three (3) years of experience in any aspect of governmental, industrial or organizational purchasing; OR, C.Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma, and four (4) years of experience in any aspect of governmental, industrial or organizational purchasing.
