Job Description

SUMMARY Assistant Merchandise Buyers assist the Merchandise Buyers and Store Teams and are responsible for executing the purchasing processes for the emblematic apparel and gift merchandise needs of our contracted institutions. This includes, but is not limited to, communicating orders to vendors, setting up and maintaining items within our procurement systems, creating purchase orders, verifying timely item receipt to stores, and confirming item availability on our website.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist Merchandise Buyers and Store teams with ordering projects Create purchase orders using internal systems Place purchase orders via phone, fax, email or EDI Confirm receipt of purchase orders via email within 48 hours to guarantee order has been placed with vendor Update purchasing systems with accurate information, including order availability and status of order Analyze the final cost of an item to set a retail within our margin range Build and maintain professional business relationships with local vendor reps Obtain a copy of every invoice from the vendor to verify cost accuracy Request and upload web images for every item ordered and confirm they are live on the website upon receipt of item

Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines Ability to work in a team environment Must be able to clearly communicate (written and verbal) with associates at all levels Must be able to multi-task and prioritize Must have time management skills General understanding of all procurement functions Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook EDUCATION and/or
