Cobb Convention Center Atlanta & Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre:
Protect the interests of the Authority and its clients with regard to the receipt, storage and security of all equipment, materials, supplies and goods delivered to purchasing areas. Develop and administer policies and procedures to ensure the timely delivery of all goods received to proper recipients. Accept delivery of shipments upon reviewing all pertinent documents for accuracy and completeness. Track and follow up on all exceptions. Process all payment transactions for goods shipped in accordance with accounting procedures. Negotiate and administer shipping contracts with common carriers and freight companies to maximize service to clients. Comply with all published packaging and shipping requirements of major carriers to minimize loss and damage. Ensure all required documents are received from clients in a timely manner when using donated products for events/shows. Verify the receipt of each item included in deliveries: Record the actual quantities received and match items received to items ordered. Inspect products for quality, making recommendations as to acceptance based on the needs of each venue. Price all products, date and store them according to current inventory control and storage policies. Issue products to various departments and ensure that products are properly requisitioned. Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work environment. Conduct and record inventories at required intervals as directed or as deemed necessary to maintain accurate records and controls of stock. Participate in month end and year-end activities including reporting duties.
Position may require the following:
Irregular work schedules at various times and a variety of work assignments which may not be directly related to job specifications. Must be able to handle other duties, functions, special projects and responsibilities as assigned. Communicate effectively in clear, concise, and easy to understand terms. Keeps Supervisor fully informed of all issues which require management attention. Minimum Requirements Education/Certifications
  • High School Diploma/GED (Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Management or a related field Preferred) Experience
  • Minimum (2) years' experience in shipping and receiving, administrative/clerical position, or equivalent related field. Knowledge Skills & Abilities
  • Excellent organizational skills; must maintain clean and orderly spaces to include office space.
  • Solid understanding of clerical procedures and systems such as recordkeeping and filing
  • Demonstrated independent decision-making and problem-solving ability
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as professionalism and positive interactions with all encounters.

Microsoft Office Suite Working Conditions Working Environment:
  • Must report to building, work from home is not an option for this position.
  • Ex. Ability to travel to and from meetings, training sessions or other business-related events.
  • After hours and weekend work is required on an occasional basis.
Physical Demands:
  • Active position with some sedentary time
  • Ability to lift, carry, push or pull up to fifty (50) pounds.
  • Ability to stand or walk for long periods of time.
  • Ability to squat, bend, climb, stoop, and crawl in tight spaces.
  • Ability to withstand cold and hot temperatures.
