Job Description

Purchasing Analyst Location:
Livermore, CA (Hybrid - 2-3 days per week in office, on-site during initial training period)
Compensation:
$28-$35/hour About RMI Ratermann Manufacturing is a leading U.S.-based supplier specializing in capital equipment and solutions for the cryogenic and compressed gas industries. Our reputation is built on reliable people, innovative solutions, and dependable delivery. We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Purchasing Analyst to join our growing Purchasing team. This role will support purchasing operations, vendor communications, reporting, inventory analysis, and supply chain initiatives while helping ensure our systems and records remain accurate and up to date. Reporting directly to the Purchasing Manager, this position will work closely with Purchasing, Inventory, Sales, and Warehouse teams to support purchasing decisions, improve processes, and provide valuable insights through data and reporting. Key Responsibilities Purchasing & Vendor Support Follow up with vendors regarding open purchase orders, delivery schedules, pricing updates, and order status. Maintain accurate purchasing records and ensure all vendor communications are properly documented within internal systems. Monitor and update purchasing information to ensure timely and accurate communication across departments. Support purchasing agents and management with day-to-day purchasing activities and special projects. Data Analysis & Reporting Develop, maintain, and analyze reports using Excel and other reporting tools. Analyze purchasing trends, inventory levels, pricing changes, and vendor performance. Research market conditions, supply chain disruptions, tariffs, and other factors that may impact purchasing decisions. Assist with inventory planning and supply chain improvement initiatives. Provide data-driven recommendations to support purchasing and inventory strategies. Cross-Functional Collaboration Serve as a liaison between Purchasing, Inventory, Sales, and Warehouse teams. Communicate updates, priorities, and potential risks to stakeholders. Help ensure departments have access to accurate and current purchasing information. Escalate concerns and identify opportunities for process improvements. Continuous Improvement Support ongoing process improvement initiatives related to purchasing and supply chain operations. Assist the Purchasing Manager with reporting, inventory analysis, vendor research, and purchasing improvement initiatives. Help improve data accuracy, reporting capabilities, and overall efficiency. Qualifications Required Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for reporting, data management, and analysis Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy. Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving abilities. Reliable, dependable, and able to consistently follow through on commitments. Preferred Experience in purchasing, supply chain, inventory management, operations, or analytical roles. Experience in a manufacturing, industrial, distribution, or technical environment. Familiarity with Tableau or other business intelligence and reporting tools. Experience working with ERP systems and large data sets. What Success Looks Like First 30 Days Learn RMI's systems, products, vendors, and purchasing processes. Begin vendor follow-up activities and maintain purchasing records. Build relationships with the Purchasing team and key internal stakeholders. Within 60 Days Support reporting and analysis activities. Work closely with Purchasing and Inventory teams on ongoing initiatives. Develop familiarity with reporting tools and business data. Within 90 Days Independently manage assigned projects and analyses. Provide insights related to purchasing, inventory, and vendor performance. Contribute recommendations that improve efficiency and decision-making. Benefits 401(k): Eligible to enroll after 90 days of employment.
Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance:
