Purchasing Full Job Description What You'll Do:
We are looking for a Purchasing & Cost Analyst to join our Purchasing & Production team. This role sits at the intersection of purchasing operations and financial analysis
  • you will own the transactional accuracy of our vendor costs today and grow into the analytical voice that tells us what those costs mean for the business over time.
As our systems mature, the balance of this role shifts progressively toward analysis and away from transaction processing. If you are someone who sees the story behind the numbers and isn't satisfied just entering them, this role was built for you. You will report to our Purchasing Manager and work closely with both the Purchasing and Production teams, as well as our Business Analyst. Purchasing Operations & Transactional Accuracy
  • Maintain and update vendor pricing in Kova ERP, ensuring pricing is accurate and current across all active trades
  • Enter and approve purchase order adjustment variances, questioning discrepancies and escalating anomalies rather than processing them passively
  • Serve as the pre-AP checkpoint, reviewing vendor accounts for accuracy and ensuring all billing is legitimate and properly documented before payments are processed
  • Review and approve warranty payment requests, verifying legitimacy of charges against scope and contract terms
  • Maintain accurate records of all vendor activity, expenditures, and account history Financial & Job Cost Analysis
  • Own job cost analysis at project close, comparing final costs against budget, identifying where variances occurred, and documenting the reasons behind them
  • Analyze vendor cost trends across the portfolio: which trades are consistently over or under budget, where pricing agreements are holding, and where renegotiation conversations are warranted
  • Identify patterns in PO adjustments and warranty claims, surfacing systemic issues rather than treating each transaction in isolation
  • Manipulate and analyze data in Excel to answer financial questions about vendor performance and cost behavior
  • Provide data-driven insight and reporting to the Purchasing Manager and Director of Purchasing & Production to inform purchasing strategy and vendor decisions
  • Collaborate with the Business Analyst to ensure operational and financial variance analysis are aligned and telling a complete story to leadership
