Job Description:
Purchasing Associate General Expectations/Responsibilities:
  • Generates and processes purchase order
  • Approves material invoices and reconciles with the purchase order
  • Maintains records of goods ordered and received
  • Negotiate prices and contracts with suppliers
  • Build and maintain relationships with vendors
  • Select prospective vendors and negotiate pricing
  • Evaluates vendors based on quality, timeliness, and price
  • Ensures timely fulfillment of orders
  • Evaluates vendors to compare pricing and services
  • Coordinate with fellow associates to monitor inventory and determine supply need
  • Work with field personnel on material changes and unforeseen needs
  • Ensures quality of procured items and addresses problems when they arise
  • Tracks excess and leftover materials for return or use on other projects
  • Occasionally Travels to vendor locations
Position Requirements Include:
  • Bachelor's degree preferred but not required
  • Preferable experience in wet utility construction or sales (Waterworks)
  • Experience using procurement software and databases
  • Supervisory experience
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Good - Excellent computer skills
  • Negotiation skills
  • Interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Experience with BID to Win a plus
  • Experience with KOJO a plus
